The 19th Annual Sunset 5K

The 19th Annual Sunset 5K and Fun Run was held on Saturday, March 6. The race route features a flat course throughout Belleair along with beautiful homes and the Intercoastal Waterway. Only 450 runners participated this year, down from 800 last year, no doubt due to the fact that the sensational after-race party was canceled due to the pandemic.

The weather gods were kind to Belleair this year. On the day of the race, it rained all morning and part of the early afternoon. But then a couple of hours before race time, the sun came out making it a gorgeous day for a race. Belleair PD were posted at strategic spots along the racecourse along with volunteers to keep the runners safe. The awards were mailed to the top three age division finishers for male/female, top overall male/female, and masters male/female.
